Do Everything in Love

Our world is in need of love and compassion. Do not take lightly your desire to be a light in a sometimes dark world. As you strive to live a life of fulfillment, excellence, and honor, love is the foundation of it all. As God’s word tells us, “Let all that you do be done in love” 1 Corinthians 16:14

God is Love

1 John 4:8 tells us, “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” We are commanded in the Bible to love. However, loving isn’t always easy, is it? That is where God comes in. We have to allow Him to love through us. As humans without God, it is next to impossible to open our hearts and love people who sometimes seem unlovable. With God’s help, we can find ourselves loving others in a more meaningful way than we ever thought possible. If you find yourself growing in compassion, empathy, and just have a longing to do good in the world, it may be God trying to use you to share His love. 

Growing Through Loving Others

The growth in our own selves, which stems from truly loving others, can be a surprise. You set out with a purpose to intentionally share acts of kindness, and compassion, and end up greatly blessed yourself. As we seek to love and share our gifts with those around us, we often grow in humility and empathy. If compassion is shared with no expectations in return, it opens our hearts and minds to the reality of others’ lives. We have to be willing to accept that people are hurting, and life is hard. It is all too easy to stay comfortable by not thinking about those things. But as you allow yourself to, doors will open where love can be shared. In turn, you will become a light in this world, and feel that light burning inside of you, overcoming darkness in your life and in the lives around you. Imagine how we could change the world, if everyone strives to be that light in their small corner of this world. 

Don’t give up. You have so much already built inside of you, including this light that is capable of great love and compassion! You will only find it by searching out the darkness and bringing your light there. Seek those in need, and watch as your life changes in a beautiful way. We are already equipped to do everything in love, as God has commanded us to do. It takes intentional living, prayer, and trusting in Him to begin to see that we are, indeed, created to love, and with that love comes a calling to love others.
